Bentley says it takes roughly 500 man-hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to adopt the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers don't make use of a machine to create perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers have to park their cars manually, rather than relying on sensors built into the vehicle to guide them into parallel and perpendicular spots.
